Welcome to the Australian Dance Challenge, an exciting dance event unlike any other. Showcasing the talents of young dancers from all over Australia, this competition celebrates innovative choreography, spectacular technique and true entertainment.

The Sydney groups competition will be held at Hurstville Entertainment Centre on the 17th and 18th September. PLEASE NOTE WE ARE NO LONGER RUNNING ON THE 11TH. (Also, there will be NO night session on the Saturday.) The Troupes weekend is run in age order... we will start with 6/under sections on Saturday morning, and then have 8/under and 10/under sections. Then on the Sunday we'll begin with 12/under then 14/under, 16/under and finish with Open Age. Entries are open and studio directors should enter groups now because we're only able to accept a maximum of 350 routines.

The highly acclaimed Australian Dance Challenge Solo Championship is a unique competition for dancers. Each competitor chooses one routine in their favourite style and performs it in front of a panel of two judges. The top 3 from every section of 20 dancers makes it through to the finals... which this year will be held during the Sydney groups competition, in front of a cheering audience of over 600 and a panel of three expert judges.

This year our solos will be held on Sunday the 7th August. We have an exciting new venue at the Round House, UNSW in Randwick. Entries are now closed - but the schedule is available above.

Not only do we give out amazing cash prizes and specially designed "movable statue" trophies, but we even give out prizes to our audiences. Why? Because they're always so enthusiastic and excitable. Last year we gave out A-reserve tickets to Wicked and to Fame the Musical, and we also gave out dozens of boxes of Lindt chocolates and Jelly Belly jelly beans. This year we're stepping up the prizes to an all new level, we have more tickets to amazing shows, workshops, chocolates, wine and more.

The Australian Dance Challenge is a fun competition that is easy to enter as well as stress-free and convenient for parents, students and dance teachers. Our rules are based on commonsense, rather than 50 years of beurocratic fuss. Please make sure you read about time limits, back stage protocols, and all the terms and conditions of entering.

Since our first year of competition in 2008, The Australian Dance Challenge has developed an outstanding reputation for providing a high quality, well run event that the students, parents and even the teachers love. Because of this, we've enjoyed great success and have been priveliged enough to have many wonderful dance studios enter our competition.
