RULES FOR THE SOLO CHAMPIONSHIPS

« Music must be clearly labelled with competitor name and song/item name. All music should be of good quality. Only CDs will be accepted. There must be only one song per CD. It is highly recommended that you bring a spare copy of your music with you to the eisteddfod. It is essential that all music contains no swearing. Points will be deducted for inappropriate lyrics.

« All solos items have a 3-minute time limit. Points will be deducted if the routine exceeds this limit.

« Sportsmanlike behaviour is expected at all times. Failure to display proper decorum could result in immediate disqualification.

« Australian Dance Challenge and our staff are not responsible for personal injury or property loss.

« Contestants will be judged by a panel of well-qualified judges, and all decisions of the judges will be accepted as final. If, through unforeseen circumstances, a judge is unable to perform his or her duties, the Australian Dance Challenge reserves the right to appoint a substitute without notice.

« The number which each routine is assigned is basically for reference and identification purposes. We do run in numerical order, however, you may be asked to compete out of sequence in order to avoid a delay due to costume changes. Please be prepared to compete when we call your number, even though it may be a few numbers earlier than you anticipated.

« PHOTO TAKING VIDEO TAPING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. If video cameras are found in the competition auditorium Australian Dance Challenge reserves the right to confiscate the video tape being used - we will also disqualify the competitor if the offendor is related to them.

« By entering, all contestants grant permission to the directors of the Australian Dance Challenge to use photographs taken during the course of the event to promote its competitions.

« During the performance at any time, no parent or teacher shall be allowed on the stage or platform. No prompting or assistance of any kind may be given during the performance.

« The decision of the Director, in all questions and disputes arising out of, or not provided for in these rules, shall be final. All entries are, therefore deemed to be made subject to this condition, and the decisions of the Director shall not be subject to any appeal at law as being contrary to the spirit of friendly competition.
