>>> NEW VENUE
We very excited to announce that the 2012 Australian Dance Challenge Troupes weekend will be held at the Rooty Hill RSL Club. One Sydney’s premiere auditoriums, this amazing theatre boasts a ridiculously large stage (16m x 10m), state of the art light and sound, and a big audience set up with 50% theatre-style seating, and 50% tables. The bar will be open for the mums and dads, and the bistro downstairs has great food. We’ve got loads of dressing room space, thanks to the extra hire of two very large function rooms. The venue is conveniently located just 2 minutes off the M7 and has plenty of free on- site parking.
>>> NEW JUDGES
All Troupe sections have a panel of three industry professional judges, with unique dance backgrounds. This year the judges sit at separate tables and at the end of each section their scores are collected by the official score-keeper, and totalled to reveal the results which are announced shortly after each section. This year we have already confirmed Kate Wormald, PJ Clarke. More judges will be announced closer to the event.
>>> NEW PRIZES
The last two years, our exclusive “mannequin” trophies have been the talk of the town. This year, we have something new planned. It’s a secret right now, but will be revealed in the lead up to the event. We also have cash prizes this year for choreographer and costume awards. And we also have Musical Theatre tickets, chocolates and prize packs to give away for the most enthusiastic audience members.
We don’t do ribbons at ADC. Instead we have awesome badges for every dancer in the Troupes that place 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th. They can be put on your student’s dance jackets to promote their success in the competition. Every single performer also receives a free Australian Dance Challenge rubber wristband accessory (valued at $3.95)

The Australian Dance Challenge Solo Championships are currently searching for a new venue. We WILL be back again this year, and the syllabus will be released on here in a few weeks once we have confirmed details.
